Doha International Airport
Doha International Airport covers approximately 17,094 sq. metres. The present runway is about 4575 metre long. The recent expansion of Doha International Airport has added 6600 sq. metres to the facility. The first phase of the new airport is due to start at a cost of $5.2b and will be completed in 2015. The airport will accommodate 50m passengers when the three phases are completed.
The State of Qatar has spared no effort to develop and expand its seaports and equip them with all necessary facilities. The Ports and Sea Customs Department actively participates in international maritime activities as a member of the International Maritime Organization, Arab Academy for Maritime Transport, and the International Association of Ports and Harbors.
The major seaports in Qatar equipped to receive giant ships are Doha Commercial Seaport, Mesaieed Commercial and Industrial Seaport and Ras Laffan Industrial Seaport.
